Ding Dong Cake

  1. Prepare batter of one box of Devil's Food Cake Mix according to package directions. Spread into a jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 for approximately 20 minutes. Cool completely.
  2. Combine: sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla, butter, pinch salt and Crisco and beat with a mixer for 10-15 minutes or until fluffy. Spread in an even layer on your cooled cake.
  3. Soften 1-2 containers of chocolate frosting in the microwave (just until it becomes slightly pourable - you don't want it to get too hot). Spread frosting over cake.
  4. Refrigerate until set. Serve with apologies.
