Chocolate Mice
- 4 pieces 1 Oz. Squares Sweetened Chocolate
- 1/3 cups Sour Cream
- 1 cup Chocolate Cookie Crumbs (I Use Oreos, Filling And All, Throw In Food Processor And Grind), Plus Extra For Rolling The Mice In
- 1/3 cups Powdered Sugar
- 25 whole Silver Dragees For Eyes (I Use Black Sugar Balls Purchased In A Cake Aisle, Look Like Little Beady Mice Eyes)
- 1/4 cups Sliced Almonds
- 12 pieces Long Red Licorice For Tails, I Use Chocolate Licorice When I Can Find It, More Realistic
- 1. Melt the chocolate (in the microwave, 30 second bursts stirring in between to make sure it doesn't scorch). When chocolate is melted, combine with sour cream. Stir in 1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs. Cover and refrigerate until firm.
- 2. Roll by level tablespoonfuls into balls. Mold to a slight point at one end to shape the nose.
- 3. Roll dough in confectioner's sugar (for white mice) or in chocolate cookies crumbs (for dark mice). On each mouse, place dragees or black sugar balls on each side of nose; press in to make eyes. Place 2 almond slices on each side of head and push into head for ears. Add a licorice string for the tails.
- 4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
