Torta Di Mele (Tuscan Apple Cake)06
- 4 whole Apples
- 1-1/4 cup Sugar, Divided
- 1/2 teaspoons Cinammon
- 3 cups Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 3/4 cups Olive Oil
- 4 whole Eggs
- 2-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 2-1/2 teaspoons Almond Extract
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper. Peel, core and cut the apples into 8 slices each. In a medium bowl, combine the apple slices, 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Stir well and set aside.
- 2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, remaining 1 cup sugar and baking powder. Stir well. Add all the other ingredients (except the apples) and beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the apples to the batter.
- 3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and even out the top with a spatula. Bake for 1 hour. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before removing from pan. Serve warm or at room temperature.
