Crockpot Apple Cider
- 9 whole Apples (of Different Varieties), Washed And Cut Into Quarters
- 1 whole Orange, Peeled And Cut Into Quarters
- 1/3 cups Packed Brown Sugar
- 5 cups Water
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cloves
- Place chopped apples, orange, brown sugar, water, cinnamon and cloves in a slow cooker. Use enough water so that fruit is submerged in the crockpot. Cover and set to low for 6 to 7 hours.
- After 6 or 7 hours, strain cider through a wire strainer, pressing mixture into strainer slightly. Discard any remaining solids. Strain cider again through a very fine mesh (like a cheese cloth), stirring to allow more liquid to pass through the cloth.
- Save remaining solids as this is your applesauce! Place the cider and apple sauce is serving dishes.
- Store the cider in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- Note: Cheese cloths can be purchased at kitchen specialty stores or even at your local Target or Walmart! They usually are around $2 to $3.
