The Best Baked Beans
- 4 slices Bacon
- 1/2 whole Large Onion, Diced
- 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 2 cans (11 Oz. Size) Pork And Beans
- 1/4 cups Ketchup
- 2 Tablespoons Molases
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 cups Red Wine
- 1/4 teaspoons Chili Powder (or More To Taste)
- Baking method:
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F.
- In a Dutch oven or a large oven safe pot, cook bacon until fully cooked and crispy. Remove from the pan but leave the oil in the pan. Crumble bacon once it has cooled.
- Add onion to pot and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute. Stir in cooked bacon, beans, ketchup, molases, brown sugar, Worcestershire, red wine and chili powder. Cover and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
- Stovetop method:
- Cook bacon in a large pot until fully cooked and crispy. Remove from pan but leave the oil in the pan. Crumble bacon once it has cooled.
- Add onion to pan and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute. Stir in cooked bacon, beans, ketchup, molases, brown sugar, Worcestershire, red wine and chili powder. Simmer 30-35 minutes covered, stirring occasionally.
