Apple Praline Pie
- 2 whole Pie Crusts - Homemade Or Store Bought
- 6 cups Thinly Sliced Apples, Peeled (I Like Rome Apples)
- 3/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- FOR THE PRALINE:
- 1/4 cups Butter
- 1/2 cups Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Cream
- 1/2 cups Chopped Pecans
- Heat oven to 350u0b0F. Press the first pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Toss gently. Spoon into prepared pie crust. Dot with butter. Top with the second crust and pinch the two crusts together around the edges. Cut slits in several places. Bake at 350u0b0F for 50-55 minutes. Remove from the oven.
- For the praline, in a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar and cream. Over low heat, bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Spread the mixture over the pie. Place the pie on a cookie sheet and return it to the oven. Bake 5 minutes or until bubbly. Cool one hour before serving (optional: top with ice cream or whipped cream).
