Christmas Mints
- 1 pound Confectioners Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Butter, Room Temperature
- 2 Tablespoons Crisco Shortening
- 3 Tablespoons Warm Water
- Flavoring Of Choice
- Food Coloring Of Choice
- Add sugar, butter, crisco and water to mixing bowl. Beat at high speed until well combined.
- At this point, you can divide into 2 bowls and make 2 flavors or simply add color and flavor of choice into the 1 bowl.
- For a whole batch, add 1 teaspoon of Oil of Peppermint and as much red food color as you need for the color. Or add 1 teaspoon of Oil of Wintergreen and green food color. Or do half and half. In this case, split the mixture into two bowls and just add 1/2 teaspoon of flavoring to each bowl.
- Mix well. Roll into "snakes" the size you want. Cut into bite-size pieces and let dry uncovered.
