Heavenly Onion Casserole

  1. Melt butter over medium high heat.
  2. Saute onions and mushrooms until tender.
  3. Place in 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch baking dish or 2-quart casserole.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  5. Combine soup, milk and soy sauce.
  6. Pour over cheese.
  7. Top with bread and cheese slices.
  8. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Bake loosely covered for 30 minutes at 375u0b0.
  10. Uncover and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until heated through.
  11. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
  12. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
