Swedish 3 Grain Brown Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease or line with parchment, two 9x5x3 inch loaf pans or 4 small loaf pans.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream the sugar and butter. In a separate bowl combine all dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture along with the buttermilk. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  4. Divide mixture evenly amongst the pans and sprinkle tops with additional rolled oats and anise seeds.
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean. Turn out of pans and allow to cool on racks.
