New Years Eve Petit Fours

  1. I am going to share a huge secret with you. These are the easiest petit fours you will ever 'make' and they are delicious!
  2. You are simply covering Oreo Cakesters with rolled fondant!
  3. No baking!
  4. As far as the technique involved, I rolled out about a quarter-sized ball of fondant for each petit four. I placed it over the cakester, then smoothed it out. After getting it as flat as possible, I used a pizza cutter and cut off the excess. Tuck the edges under and decorate anyway you would like!
  5. For the '2010', I used the royal icing recipe off of a container of meringue powder and then piped out the '2010'. You should try and let them dry at least overnight. When ready to assemble, just put two drops of royal icing on the petit four then place the 2010 on top. Hold for about 30 seconds or prop up with a toothpick.
  6. If you want, you can just use a Wilton flower tip and place a pretty frosting flower on each one.
  7. For a fun decorating tip, try visiting youtube.com and entering 'decorating with fondant' or 'decorating cakes'. This is how I learned many of the techniques I use!
