Caramel Magic Bars
- 1 cup Flour
- 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cups Butter, Cut Into Chunks
- 2 cups Coarsely Chopped Pecans
- 1 cup Flaked Coconut
- 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 11 ounces, weight Caramel Bits
- 2 Tablespoons Milk
- 1 cup Chocolate Chips Or Chunks
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- In a medium bowl, stir together flour and brown sugar. Use a pastry blender to cut butter into mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press crumb mixture onto the bottom of an un-greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven.
- Sprinkle pecans and coconut over hot crust.
- In a small bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Pour over pecans and coconut, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until milk mixture is just set. Remove from oven. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel bits and milk. Microwave for 30 seconds and then stir. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each time, until mixture is melted and smooth.
- Pour melted caramel over bars. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
