Omega-3 Dark Chocolate-Walnut Squares
- 1-7/8 ounces, weight 99 Percent Dark Chocolate
- 2-1/8 ounces, weight Walnuts
- 1-3/4 ounces, weight Flax Seeds
- 1-7/8 ounces, weight Good Honey
- 5-1/3 ounces, weight Oatmeal
- 4 ounces, fluid Boiled Water
- Finely grind the walnuts and flax seeds, pour into a large bowl and set aside. Pour the hot water over the chocolate in a separate bowl and let it melt. Add the oats to the flax and nut mixutre and give it a good mix, then add the honey. Once the chocolate is all melted (it takes about 2 minutes), add it to the oatmeal mixture. Combine everything well and pack down in a 9x9 inch tray. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes at 350 degress Fahrenheit. Cut into 16 squares once cooled. This will keep in the fridge for a week and on the counter for 3 days.
- If you can't find 99 percent dark chocolate, use the darkest you can find. These are not too sweet; if you like your treats sweeter, you can add another 50 grams of honey and 50 grams of oats. If the batter seems a bit dry, then add another ounce of water. I use silicone bakeware which does not stick, so you may need to use parchment paper if you don't have silicone.
