Stewed Okra And Tomatoes

  1. Heat a pan on the stovetop to medium-high heat.
  2. Add the oil and tomatoes and saute for 2 minutes until the tomatoes start to wilt.
  3. Turn the heat down to medium. Add the okra and saute for 5 minutes until soft and the slime releases.
  4. Add the garlic, a sprinkle of salt and a splash of water. Let vegetables continue to cook until water is nearly evaporated and the okra is soft.
  5. NOTE: If you're using frozen okra you probably won't need the water since water will be released from the melting process.
  6. Taste and add more salt if needed. Serve with your favorite southern-style meal!
