Brownie Pound Cake
- 3 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 pounds Butter
- 1/2 cups Shortening (Crisco)
- 3 cups Sugar
- 6 whole Eggs
- 1 cup Whipping Cream
- Sift dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder, cocoa powder) together and set aside in a bowl.
- Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Once creamy, add eggs, one at a time, until combined. Add dry ingredients, alternating with cream, until all ingredients are mixed well. Pour into greased tube pan.
- Start the cake in an cold oven and set oven temperature to 325u0b0F. Bake for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Check often with a toothpick (crumbs should stick to the toothpick, like brownies). You can bake this in 2 loaf pans, but reduce the cook time if you do.
