Golden Pound Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
  2. In mixing bowl, blend the Crisco and granulated sugar thoroughly.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Combine the cake flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. Add alternately with milk, vanilla and lemon extract to shortening-sugar mixture.
  6. Beat until mixture is smooth.
  7. Turn batter into well-greased and floured 10-inch fluted tube pan. Bake at 325u0b0 for 1 hour, or until cake tests done.
  8. Cool 1 hour; remove cake from pan and cool completely on rack.
  9. To serve, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
