South African Creamy Condensed Milk Fudge
- 3 pounds Castor Sugar
- 1 cup Flour
- 1/2 pounds Butter
- 1 can (379g) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 cup Full Cream Milk
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- Place all of the ingredients except the vanilla extract into a heavy-based saucepan. Start at a low temperature and heat gently. Keep stirring the mixture until the sugar has dissolved - about 15 or 20 minutes. Once the sugar has dissolved, brush sugar from sides of the pan with a wet cloth to prevent burning while it boils. Bring the mixture to the boil. Boil for 20 minutes and stir continuously. After 20 minutes is up, remove the mixture from the heat and add the vanilla extract.
- Immediately pour the mixture into a waxed paper-lined baking tray (approximately 16x 11) or use 2 smaller trays. Allow it to cool a bit before marking and cutting into blocks.
