Layered Brownies

  1. Brownies:
  2. Heat oven to 325-350 degrees. Grease a 13x9 baking pan. Stir together the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt; beat until well blended. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides and a toothpick tester comes out clean. Cool completely.
  3. Cream Cheese Frosting:
  4. Beat together the butter, cream cheese, and vanilla. Add the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until you have used it all and the frosting is smooth. Pour over the cooled brownies and chill.
  5. Chocolate Glaze:
  6. Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler. Mix with powdered sugar and add milk one tablespoon (2-4 tablespoons total) at a time. Try not to make the glaze too wet. Drizzle over brownies when well mixed.
