Broken Glass Jello
- 4 boxes Jello Or Store Brand Flavored Gelatin (3 Ounces Each)
- 6-1/2 cups Boiling Water, Divided
- 2 envelopes (1 Oz. Envelope) Knox Gelatin Or Unflavored Gelatin
- 1/2 cups Cold Water
- 1 can (14 Oz. Size) Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Please note that the "cook time" is not an actual cook time-it is the total Jello set time.
- For each of the 4 flavors of Jello, make according to package directions for the Jigglers recipe. If the box does not have these directions, dissolve the contents of each Jello packet into 1.25 (1 and 1/4) cups of boiling water. Allow all 4 flavors of Jello to set for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator, or until firm.
- Cut all the Jello into small blocks, about 1-inch by 1-inch by 1-inch cubes. Scatter the cubes into the bottom of a 13x9-inch pan. Be sure to evenly distribute all 4 colors/flavors of Jello. Place the 13x9 inch pan in the refrigerator while you make the milk base.
- In a large bowl, dissolve the 2 packets of Knox (or unflavored gelatin) into 1/2 cup of cold water. Mix and allow the gelatin to bloom. This should take about 5 minutes. Then, add 1 and 1/2 cups of boiling water. Immediately stir in the sweetened condensed milk. Allow the milk mixture to cool to room temperature (this step is very important!).
- Take the 13x9-inch pan containing the Jello cubes out of the refrigerator. Pour the cooled milk mixture into the 13x9-inch pan. The colored cubes of Jello will float slightly. Place the 13x9-inch pan carefully back into the refrigerator and allow to cool for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- When ready, cut into squares and serve.
