Snickerdoodle Belgium “Wonuts”
- FOR THE WONUTS
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 cups Sugar
- 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 3/4 cups Low Fat Milk (1%)
- 2 whole Eggs, Beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 Tablespoons Vanilla Greek Yogurt
- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1/4 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 cups Milk (1%)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- FOR THE TOPPING:
- 2 Tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 cups Sugar
- 1. Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions. Prepare the waffle batter: In a large bowl, add the dry ingredients (flour through cinnamon). Whisk to combine. In a separate small bowl, add the wet ingredients (milk through yogurt) and stir together. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix together until completely combined.
- 2. Cook the waffles: Add about 3/4 cup of batter into the Belgian waffle iron (if you have a different waffle iron add the amount of batter you usually do). Cook waffle according to manufacturer's instructions. I cooked each for 4 minutes. Remove the cooked waffles to a plate and continue with the rest of the batter.
- 3. Meanwhile, in a shallow dish, mix together the glaze ingredients until evenly combined. In another shallow bowl, make the topping. Combine the sugar and the cinnamon.
- 4. Once the waffles have cooled, break them into quarters. Dip the top of the waffle in the glaze and then in the topping.
- 5. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
