Graham Nuts Not Grape Nuts
- 3-1/2 cups Whole Wheat Graham Flour
- 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt (or Kosher Salt)
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 2 cups 1% Milk
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter or use a non-stick cooking spray on the inside of a 9" square baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the graham flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the baking dish and spread the contents to an even layer. Bake for 35 minutes or until batter is firm.
- Loosen the baked patty from the pan and cool on a wire rack for several hours or over night.
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Break the baked patty into chucks and process in a food processor until crumbs are formed. I had to do this a few times.
- Bake for 30 minutes. Every 10 minutes or so, open the oven and stir the crumbs on the pan.
- Let the toasty crumbs cool completely and enjoy as a cereal with a myriad of additions, such as banana chips, other dried fruit, nuts and more!
