Cheese-Stuffed Meatballs

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix together all ingredients except for the string cheese.
  2. Take 6 strings of cheese and unwrap them then slice each into about 5 equal pieces. You won't need to use the whole package so continue to slice as you need more cheese.
  3. Take a small handful of meatball mixture and roll it around with your hands. Place a piece of the cheese in the middle and roll until it's completely covered. Place meatballs on a rimmed baking sheet. Continue until you've used all of the meat mixture.
  4. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until browned. The cheese may bubble slightly outside of the meatballs (yum). I take the pan of meatballs out of the oven a few times as they are cooking and roll them around so that they cook evenly on all sides.
  5. Remove from oven and serve, either alone or with a dipping sauce! This makes a great appetizer, or is perfect with spaghetti or in a sub roll!
