Marble Squares
- FOR THE CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE:
- 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese
- 1/3 cups Sugar
- 1 whole Egg

- FOR THE CHOCOLATE BATTER:
- 1/2 cups Margarine
- 3/4 cups Water
- 1-1/2 ounce, weight Unsweetened Chocolate (1 1/2 Squares)
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 whole Eggs
- 1/2 cups Sour Cream
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 6 ounces, weight Semi-sweet Chocolate Bits
- For the cream cheese mixture, combine softened cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended. Add one egg and mix well in a bowl.
- For the chocolate batter, combine margarine, water and unsweetened chocolate in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Combine flour and sugar and stir in. Add the eggs, sour cream, soda and salt; mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" pan.
- Spoon cheese mixture over chocolate batter. Cut through batter with a knife several times for a marbled effect. Sprinkle with chocolate pieces.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
