Orange Cinnamon French Toast
- 1 loaf Cinnamon Raisin Or Cinnamon Swirl Bread (roughly 16 Slices Per Loaf)
- 8 whole Eggs
- 2 whole Navel Oranges, Zest And Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- Butter, For Greasing Your Skillet
- Powdered Sugar, For Serving
- Syrup, For Serving
- Fresh Fruit (optional For Serving)
- Cut all of the bread slices into three equal sized sticks.
- Beat the eggs in a baking dish (I used an 8x8) then add the orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon and vanilla and whisk together.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat; add a pat of butter and allow it to melt over the bottom of the skillet.
- Dip the bread pieces into the egg mixture until they're completely coated. Place some of the battered bread sticks in the buttered skillet (don't crowd the pan-you'll probably need to do this in batches) and cook for 3-5 minutes until done on one side. Then flip and cook the other side for 3-5 minutes, or until done. Remove the French toast from the skillet and place on a plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Repeat cooking the rest of the bread.
- Serve with extra powdered sugar, syrup, and fresh fruit as desired.
