Orange Cinnamon French Toast

  1. Cut all of the bread slices into three equal sized sticks.
  2. Beat the eggs in a baking dish (I used an 8x8) then add the orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon and vanilla and whisk together.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat; add a pat of butter and allow it to melt over the bottom of the skillet.
  4. Dip the bread pieces into the egg mixture until they're completely coated. Place some of the battered bread sticks in the buttered skillet (don't crowd the pan-you'll probably need to do this in batches) and cook for 3-5 minutes until done on one side. Then flip and cook the other side for 3-5 minutes, or until done. Remove the French toast from the skillet and place on a plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Repeat cooking the rest of the bread.
  5. Serve with extra powdered sugar, syrup, and fresh fruit as desired.
