Christmas Cookies

  1. Mix shortening, sugar, egg, honey and flavoring thoroughly. Sift together flour, soda and salt and stir in.
  2. Chill dough. Heat oven to 375u0b0 (quick moderate).
  3. Roll dough out 1/4-inch thick.
  4. Cut into desired shapes.
  5. Place 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until no imprint remains when touched lightly with finger.
  7. When cool, ice and decorate as desired.
  8. Makes about 5 dozen.
  9. I make about 1000 of these for Christmas to give away.
  10. I always double this recipe.
  11. I will stir them up one day and put dough in refrigerator and bake them the next day.
