German Chocolate Cake Balls
- 1 box Pillsbury German Chocolate Cake Mix (15.25 Oz Box)
- Additional Required Ingredients Specified On The Cake Box (typically Water, Eggs And Oil)
- 1 can Pillsbury Coconut Pecan Frosting (16 Ounce Tub)
- 2 cups Dark, Milk, And/or Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 cups Flaked Coconut
- 1/2 cups Chopped Pecans
- Bake the cake according to the box directions. Allow it to cool, then crumble it into a large bowl. Mix in the can of frosting. It's best to do this with your (very clean) hands. I mush it all together until it's really well combined and has uniform texture.
- Roll the "dough" into balls. I like them just slightly larger than 1" each. Place the balls on a waxed paper-lined cookie sheet. Chill them in the refrigerator.
- While they're firming up in the fridge, melt the chocolate in the microwave in a glass bowl. Heat the chocolate for about a minute, then stir and heat for additional 30 second increments until it's melted.
- Dip the chilled balls in the melted chocolate then place them back on the wax paper. Sprinkle with coconut and chopped pecans before the chocolate sets.
- After they're "dry" ... enjoy! Try not to eat too many at once!
