Chocolate Covered Strawberry
- 8 whole Fresh Plump Strawberries
- 1/4 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips - I'm Using See's, You Can Use Any Brands
- 2 Tablespoons Bittersweet Chocolate Chips - I'm Using Ghirardelli, You Can Use Any Brands
- 1 teaspoon Canola Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup, Such As Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, For Decoration (optional)
- 1 Tablespoon Powdered Sugar - For Decoration - Optional
- 8 whole Toothpicks - Optional
- NOTE: Do Make SURE that the strawberries are properly cleaned of any dirt/grit and also make sure they are dry (because you cannot get a smooth chocolate cover if there is any water on the strawberry).
- Insert the toothpick into the stem part of the strawberry and set them aside. (This step is optional.)
- Put the chocolate chips in a microwavable bowl, microwave for 40 seconds and stir the chips into a smooth paste. Add the canola oil into the chocolate paste and stir to form a smooth shiny paste.
- Prepare a wax paper lined plate. Now take a strawberry, holding it by the toothpick, and dip it in the bowl of chocolate (make sure you coat the chocolate evenly). Set it on the wax paper lined plate. Follow this process until all strawberries are coated with chocolate.
- Now place them in the fridge for an hour for the chocolate to set on them.
- Once the chocolate is set, take the strawberries out of the fridge. Drizzle the coated strawberries with chocolate syrup (I used Hershey's chocolate syrup and drizzled it right out of the bottle) and keep in the fridge for another 15 minutes for everything to set.
- Before serving, sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top and serve chilled.
