Cream Cheese Frosting, Reduced Fat
- 8 ounces, weight Reduced Fat Cream Cheese (Neufchatel)
- 2 teaspoons Clear Vanilla
- 1 teaspoon Clear Butter Flavor
- 6 cups Powdered (Icing) Sugar
- Food Coloring (optional)
- Yields 2.5 cups (120 1-teaspoon servings)
- 1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, vanilla and butter flavoring with an electric mixer on medium speed until very smooth.
- 2. Slowly beat in powdered sugar one half cup at a time. Beat until smooth.
- 3. If desired, add your favorite food coloring, mixing well until color is evenly distributed.
- 4. Frost cake or cookies when cool.
- 5. Refrigerate leftover frosting as well as cookies and cakes (due to the cream cheese).
