Dad’S Bread Pudding
- FOR THE BREAD PUDDING:
- 12 slices White Bread, Cubed (day Old Is Best)
- 1/4 cups Butter, Melted
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 3/4 cups Raisins
- 6 whole Eggs, Beaten
- 3/4 cups Granulated Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 3 cups Milk, Hot
- 1 pinch Nutmeg

- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cups Butter
- 1/4 cups Water
- 1 whole Egg Well Beaten
- 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly butter a 2 quart baking dish (or individual ramekins if you like).
- Combine bread cubes with melted butter, cinnamon and raisins. Place in bottom of baking dish. Beat eggs with 3/4 cup sugar, vanilla and salt. Add hot milk to the mixture and then pour over bread cubes. Sprinkle with pinch of nutmeg. Bake for 25 minutes, until browned.
- While baking, make glaze by combining sugar, butter, water, egg and lemon juice in small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Once it boils, remove from heat.
- To serve, drizzle lemon glaze over warm bread pudding.
