Chili With Chocolate
- 2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
- 6 ounces, weight Turkey Bacon, Chopped
- 1/2 cups Yellow Onion, Diced
- 2 cloves Fresh Garlic, Minced
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 48 ounces, weight Canned Tomato Sauce
- 4 pieces Hershey Milk Chocolate Kisses
- 15 ounces, weight Canned Light Kidney Beans, Undrained
- 15 ounces, weight Canned Dark Kidney Beans, Undrained
- Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (optional)
- Green Onion, Chopped (optional)
- Sour Cream (optional)
- In a large pot, cook the beef, bacon, onion and garlic in hot olive oil, over medium heat. Once ground beef mixture is cooked, drain. Return mixture to pot and stir in chili powder, red pepper flakes, tomato sauce, and chocolate. Cook over low heat, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
- Add kidney beans and cook, uncovered, until heated thoroughly. Garnish with cheese, onion, and/or sour cream.
- Tip: This chili tastes great the next day too, as flavors intensify!
