Chai Tea
- 5 whole Cardamom Pods....actually, I Use 10!
- 2 teaspoons Chopped Fresh Ginger
- 3 teaspoons Black Tea, Or More If You Like It Stronger
- 3 teaspoons Milk, Or More If You Like
- 3 cups Water (approximately)
- Sugar, To Taste
- Boil the water. You can use a teapot, a saucepan or heat in the microwave.
- Prepare two coffee mugs or one large latte mug with tea baskets.
- Using the side of a knife, or with a mortar and pestle, crack open the cardamom pods, and add them to the baskets along with the chopped fresh ginger. Distribute tea in baskets.
- Pour boiling water over the tea mixture and allow to steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove tea baskets and add milk. I like to use 1 sugar cube per serving also.
- If you do not have a tea basket, you can throw it all together in one mug and then pour through a sieve into another mug when the tea has finished steeping.
- Mmm! One of my favorite beverages ... nothing sticky or syrupy about it, just simple pleasure!
actually, fresh ginger, black tea, milk, water, sugar
