Low-Fat Granola
- 3 cups Rolled Oats
- 1 cup Roughly Chopped Mixed Nuts
- 1/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 cups Plain Unsweetened Applesauce
- 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 1/3 cups Honey
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup Dried Cherries (or Other Dried Fruit)
- Preheat oven to 300u0b0F.
- In a large bowl, mix together oats, nuts, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
- In a small saucepan, warm the applesauce, brown sugar, honey, vanilla and vegetable oil over low heat. Add the applesauce mixture to the oats and stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet, making sure you have an even layer and the pan isn't overly crowded. Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until the golden is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Add dried fruit. Store in an airtight container.
