Saucepan Brownies

  1. Blend the granulated sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  2. Stir in cherries; cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until thick and clear.
  3. Reduce heat; cook 2 minutes more.
  4. Stir in rum extract; chill thoroughly.
