Oriental Green Casserole
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 3/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 3 c. water
- 1/3 c. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. ginger
- 3/4 c. soy sauce
- 1/3 c. water
- 2 (7 oz.) cans bamboo sprouts
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. pea pods
- 1 small can sliced mushrooms
- 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
- chow mein noodles
- In skillet, brown the ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper until beef is browned.
- Drain.
- Add 3 cups water and bring to boil.
- Combine in a small bowl the cornstarch, sugar, ginger, soy sauce and 1/3 cup water.
- Add to meat mixture and cook until thickened.
- Stir in bamboo sprouts, pea pods, mushrooms and water chestnuts.
- Simmer until heated through.
- Serve over chow mein noodles or rice.
- It's a wonderful meal!
