German Chocolate Cookies
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 3/4 cups Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1-1/2 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 1-1/2 cup Flour
- 1/2 cups Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 2 cups Sweetened Coconut Flakes
- 1 cup Pecans, Coarsely Chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat together sugar and butter until creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl when necessary. Beat in the egg and vanilla with about 30 seconds of mixing in between to ensure they are evenly incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and slowly mix in flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and mix well to combine. Once incorporated, mix in coconut flakes and pecans.
- Dollop 1 tablespoon of dough onto the cookie sheets at a time, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. They are delicate and airy so handle with care. Allow to cool on a wire rack. Devour.
