Clinton Cookies Fit For A President

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Beat together shortening, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually beat in flour mixture and rolled oats.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop batter by well-rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
  6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are done. Cool cookies on sheets for 2 minutes before placing them on wire racks for further cooling.
  7. Yield:
  8. 7 1/2 dozen cookies.
