Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup Shortening
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Cloves
- 1-1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 whole Eggs, Beaten
- 1-1/2 cup Oatmeal (quick Oats Are Fine)
- 1 cup Raisins
- 2 cups Flour
- 3/4 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 3/4 cups Buttermilk
- 1/2 cups Chocolate Chips
- Combine shortening, cinnamon, salt, and cloves. Add brown sugar and eggs and cream together until mixed well. Stir in the oatmeal and raisins.
- Sift together the flour and baking soda. Mix the dry ingredients into the batter, alternating with the buttermilk. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls (or a cookie scoop) onto a cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350u0b0F for 9-10 minutes.
- Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.
