Mini Butterscotch Apples
- 1/2 cups Peanuts, Chopped
- 3 Granny Smith Apples
- 3 cups Cold Water
- 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 1-1/2 cup Butterscotch Chips
- Chop up the candies (I used peanuts) you would like to use and put them in separate bowls. Wash and dry the apples. Mix cold water with lemon juice.
- Use the melon ball tool to slice about 12 round balls from each apple. Once you cut a few balls, put them in the water lemon juice solution for 10 seconds and put on paper towels to dry. This will keep the apples from browning.
- Melt the butterscotch chips in the microwave until melted, in 30-second intervals. (I used butterscotch instead of caramel because the caramel won't stick.)
- Insert a toothpick into the top of the green skin of the apple and dip into melted butterscotch and then press into the candy.
- Place on wax or parchment paper to dry. These set up very quickly.
- Store in the refrigerator.
