Cake Batter Doughnuts
- FOR THE DOUGHNUTS:
- 1 cup All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1 dash Cinnamon
- 1/4 cups Butter, Melted
- 1/2 cups Milk
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cups Pure Maple Syrup
- FOR THE GLAZE:
- 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Milk
- To make doughnuts: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Mix the flours, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine the melted butter, milk, vanilla and maple syrup. Then add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Put the mixture into a piping bag or a Ziplock bag with the tip cut off, and pour into a pre-sprayed doughnut pan. Bake doughnuts for 20-25 minutes or until browned and slightly firm to the touch. Once done, let stand to cool for 20 minutes.
- To make glaze: stir together 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, and 1 tablespoon milk. Once mixed well, distribute the glaze generously onto doughnuts.
