Apple Turnovers

  1. Grease a cookie sheet. Open the crescent roll package. Take two triangles and place them together on the sheet to form a rectangle. There are eight triangles and when placed together you should end up with four rectangles. Press the seams together tightly so that the filling does not leak out.
  2. Preheat oven to 400F.
  3. Make the filling: Put apples, cinnamon, apple juice and sugar in a saucepan on low heat. Stir constantly so that the sugar does not burn on the bottom of the pan. Cook until the apples are soft, approximately 15-20 minutes. This should thicken as you cook, but if it does not thicken to your liking just add a dash of cornstarch (mixed with water first) stir and it should thicken up nicely.
  4. When the apples are soft divide the mixture evenly among the four rectangles. Place the filling in the approximate center of each. Take one corner and fold it over to form a triangle. Roll the dough up a little on all sides to seal tightly.
  5. Put the pan in the oven and bake 10-15 minutes. Watch them and when they are golden brown they are done!
  6. Let them cool before you glaze them. Mix the milk and powdered sugar together. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more milk if needed to achieve your desired consistency. Drizzle over each turnover.
