Homemade Sweet Square

  1. In a saucepan, add sugar and 65 ml water, mix well and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Add lemon juice, mix well and bring to a boil again.
  3. In another small pan, add 50 ml water to corn flour, mix well, cook over medium heat. Add 1/2 teaspoon butter and cook until bubbly. Then gradually add sugar water mixture, mix well. Then add cinnamon, pineapple essence, and mixed fruit candy. When the mixture becomes thick, pour onto a greased plate or pan (1x4x6-inch dimensions) and set aside for 2 hours.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate candy over the almost cooled mixture and press it in a bit so that it sticks (you don't want it to melt, so don't put it on too early).
  5. Cut into small pieces (1x1 inch). Serve and enjoy.
