Spiced Cashews And Dates Granola
- 2 cups Old Fashioned Oats
- 1/2 cups Pitted Dates, Chopped
- 1/2 cups Cashews, Chopped
- 1/4 cups Wheat Germ
- 1/4 cups Unsweetened Coconut Flakes
- 1/4 cups Honey Or Agave Nectar
- 1/4 cups Unsweetened Applesauce
- 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoons Allspice
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 cups Puffed Wheat Cereal
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F.
- In a large bowl combine all ingredients except puffed wheat cereal. Mix well to ensure that the liquid ingredients are evenly distributed throughout.
- Bake for 20 minutes, stirring at the 10 minute mark. Add the puffed wheat cereal and bake another 5 minutes. Enjoy!
- Note about the puffed wheat: You can entirely leave out the puffed wheat cereal if you so desire. Its sole purpose is to provide a texture contrast with the rest of the granola. You can also add it at the beginning and bake it the whole 25 minutes, in which case it will shrink down to the size of wheat berries and become nice and crunchy.
