Quick Beer Bread
- 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 c. unsifted white flour
- 1 1/4 c. unsifted rye flour
- 3/4 c. beer
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 pkg. (2 Tbsp.) dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. caraway seed
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- Mix rye flour with 1 1/2 cups white flour.
- Heat beer, honey and margarine to 105u0b0 to 115u0b0.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.
- Add beer mixture, caraway seed, salt, garlic powder and 1 1/2 cups flour mixture.
- Beat until smooth.
- Stir in remaining flour mixture and enough additional white flour to make a soft dough.
- Knead on floured board until smooth, about 4 minutes.
- Shape into ball and place in greased 8-inch round pan. Grease top.
- Flatten to fit pan, cover and let rise in warm place for about 45 minutes.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 375u0b0.
