Cowboy Pear Tart

  1. Place the pie crust in a pie pan or dish. In a bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, flour, almonds, and lemon zest. Add the pears, toss to coat. Spoon into the pastry, covering the bottom of the pan. Dot with butter. Fold edges of pastry over the pears. Bake uncovered in a 375u0b0F oven 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
  2. For the optional glaze, in a bowl combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over the tart, then sprinkle with the slivered almonds.
  3. With a dip of ice cream, this is wonderful!
