Christmas Morning Italian Strata

  1. Night Before Serving:
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch glass baking pan. In a 10-inch skillet, over medium heat, cook sausage, stirring frequently to break up meat, until done.
  3. Drain on paper towels. Cut French bread into 1/2-inch cubes.
  4. Drain and chop mushrooms. In a baking dish, combine sausage, bread cubes and mushrooms.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, Italian seasonings, garlic powder and pepper.
  6. Pour egg mixture over sausage mixture.
  7. Cover with wrap and refrigerate overnight.
