Barbecued Green Beans
- 1-1/2 pound Fresh Green Beans, Trimmed
- 5 slices Bacon
- 1/3 cups Finely Chopped Onion
- 1 clove Garlic, Minced
- 1/3 cups Barbecue Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons Ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper, Or To Taste
- Steam green beans OR cook in boiling, salted water just until tender; drain and set aside.
- Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in the skillet. Drain, then crumble bacon; set aside.
- Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender. Add garlic; cook and stir for 1 minute more. Stir in bacon, green beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup and black pepper to taste; cook and stir over medium-low heat until thoroughly heated. Makes 6 servings.
