Barbecued Green Beans

  1. Steam green beans OR cook in boiling, salted water just until tender; drain and set aside.
  2. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in the skillet. Drain, then crumble bacon; set aside.
  3. Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender. Add garlic; cook and stir for 1 minute more. Stir in bacon, green beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup and black pepper to taste; cook and stir over medium-low heat until thoroughly heated. Makes 6 servings.
