Great Grandma’S Walnut Crumble

  1. Preheat the oven to 325u0b0F.
  2. Start with the syrup. On medium heat, dissolve sugar in water. Put aside and let it cool.
  3. For the crumble, in a large bowl, beat the eggs. Add softened butter, vegetable oil and evaporated milk. Mix thoroughly. Then add the baking powder and the flour 1 cup at time and mix. Fold in the chopped walnuts. Spread the dough in a baking pan and cut into 1-inch squares.
  4. Bake for 35 minutes until golden brown. Get it out of the oven and pour the syrup while still hot.
  5. Serve with tea or coffee.
