Chocolate Buttermilk Cake

  1. Mix flour and sugar together in a medium sized mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. Melt butter and cocoa in a sauce pan over medium heat. Once melted, add water and oil and bring to a boil. Add this mixture to the flour/sugar mixture and mix well. Add eggs, buttermilk, and baking soda.
  3. Pour into a 9x13 pan or into a cupcake pan (fill 2/3 full). Bake at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes, no longer. Cool before frosting.
  4. Use the icing or frosting of your choice. I prefer cream cheese frosting.
