Spiked Hot Apple Cider

  1. In a medium-sized pot, add apple cider (apple juice), cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg, lemon, and orange. Bring to a low boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for at least 30 minutes.
  2. To serve, add 1 oz. of your preferred rum to each mug. Top with hot apple cider and garnish with lemon or orange slice and cinnamon stick.
  3. Store any leftovers in the fridge and heat it up by the mug full when you want a little warming treat. Makes a wonderful non-alcoholic drink for kids if you omit the rum.
  4. Note: 1/2 gallon is approximately equal to 2 liters.
