American Apple Pie
- FOR THE CRUST:
- 450 grams All-purpose Flour
- 4 teaspoons Coconut Sugar
- 1/3 teaspoons Salt
- 250 grams Butter, Cold
- 130 milliliters Cold Water
- 2/3 Tablespoons Butter, For Greasing Pan
- FOR THE FILLING:
- 6 whole Medium Apples
- 3 Tablespoons Ground Walnuts
- 6 Tablespoons Coconut Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- For the crust:
- Mix four, sugar and salt together. Cut in butter. Slowly add the water until you form a dough. Divide the dough-2/3 for the bottom of the pie and 1/3 for the top. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
- For the filling:
- Peel and core the apples and slice about 1/5 inch thick. Mix with all dry ingredients.
- Grease a pie pan with butter and add bottom crust. Fill pie with apples. Slice the top pie dough into stripes and add them on the top.
- Preheat oven to 450u0b0F degrees and bake for about 20 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375u0b0F and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.
