Best Chili Ever

  1. Brown beef (or hamburger) with onions in a Dutch oven; pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients and stir. Cover and simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  2. If you prefer to cook this in a slow cooker, brown the beef and onion then mix all ingredients in the slow cooker (I prefer calling it a crock pot) and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  3. This can be made vegetarian-style by not including the beef and using vegetarian refried beans. Delicious!
  4. Note: if 3 tablespoons of chili powder is just too hot, then reduce it to 1 tablespoon.
